Clothing Washing and Care

How to Wash & Care for Sweaters

Washing

  1. Wash in cold water (below 30°C / 86°F)
Always wash sweaters in cold water below 30°C. Hot water can cause shrinkage, especially for wool and cashmere sweaters.

  2. Hand wash whenever possible
Hand washing is the gentlest method and helps maintain the sweater’s shape and texture. Avoid frequent washing, and try not to machine wash, as it may cause pilling.
For small stains, gently apply a little toothpaste mixed with salt to the stained area and lightly rub.

  3. Use a laundry bag for machine washing
If machine washing is necessary, turn the sweater inside out and place it in a laundry bag to reduce friction and prevent damage during the wash cycle.

Care

  1. Lay flat to dry
Hanging sweaters to dry may cause stretching or distortion. Instead, lay the sweater flat on a drying rack to help maintain its original shape.

  2. Proper storage
Avoid hanging sweaters, especially cashmere or wool styles, as they may lose their shape over time. Folding is the safest storage method.
After folding, store sweaters in a garment bag to prevent friction and pilling. To reduce static, you may also store sweaters together with cotton T-shirts.

How to Wash & Care for Jeans

  1. First wash color lock
For the first wash, add a small amount of white vinegar to cold water. Turn the jeans inside out and soak for about 30 minutes to help set the color and reduce fading.

  2. Wash inside out
Always turn jeans inside out and wash gently by hand or on a mild cycle to minimize fading and unnecessary wear.

  3. Avoid hot water
Do not wash jeans in hot water, as it can cause significant shrinkage. Keep the water temperature below 30°C (86°F).

  4. Use mild detergent
Choose a gentle detergent. Do not use bleach or products containing bleaching or fluorescent agents.

  5. Wash only when needed
If the jeans are not heavily soiled, reduce the amount of detergent or simply rinse with water to preserve the fabric and color.

  6. Proper drying method
When drying, hang jeans from the waistband using clips without pulling them tight. Turn them inside out and dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Sun exposure may cause fading or fabric stiffness.
